How can we help?
Everything about AndNext, sorted by topic. You’ll find detailed guides in the help centre inside the app.
Getting started
What AndNext does and how to beginWhat is AndNext?
AndNext is a finance planner and budget app for Mac. Instead of only showing where your money went, AndNext looks ahead: how your balance will develop over the coming months and up to 10 years, whether you can afford something, and what a decision means in the long run. Your data stays on your computer.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes. The quickest start is a file from your online banking (CSV). The direct bank connection also takes just a few minutes to set up. After that, your transactions arrive by themselves, no files needed. The app includes step-by-step instructions.
How do I set up AndNext?
Setup walks you through it: add your accounts with today’s balance, choose bank or CSV, fetch your transactions, accept the fixed payments AndNext has found, and pick a lock. You can change everything later in Settings.
Which devices does AndNext run on?
On the Mac. A Windows version is coming soon. There is no app for iPhone or iPad yet.
Is AndNext available in English and other currencies?
AndNext is available in German and English, with 12 currencies. You can choose light, dark or automatic mode in Settings.
Purchase & licence
Price, trial, unlockingHow much does AndNext cost?
You buy AndNext once, with no subscription. At launch it costs €19.99 for the first 100 purchases, then €39.99. Updates are included. Payment is handled securely by Lemon Squeezy. Before you buy, you can try AndNext free for 14 days with every feature.
What happens after the 14 days?
Your data stays fully readable. To edit, import or fetch from your bank, you need a licence. You can unlock AndNext at any time, even in the middle of the trial.
Do I need payment details or an account for the trial?
No. You download AndNext and get started, with no sign-up and no payment details.
How do I unlock AndNext?
In the app, go to “Unlock”, buy a licence and enter the licence key you receive by email. That’s it. Your data stays exactly as it is.
Are updates included?
Yes. Your licence includes all updates, with no subscription and no extra charge.
How do I pay?
Through Lemon Squeezy, a payment service for software. You can choose common payment methods such as credit card and PayPal, and you get a proper invoice.
Can I return AndNext?
Because you can try AndNext with every feature for 14 days first, we don’t offer returns. When you buy, you agree that the licence is provided immediately, which ends the right of withdrawal for digital content. If you still run into a problem, write to us and we’ll find a solution.
How many computers does a licence cover?
One computer. If you switch computers, remove the licence on the old one and enter it on the new one.
Accounts & bank
Connect your bank, CSV, multiple accountsBank connection or CSV, which is better?
With a bank connection, transactions and balance arrive by themselves twice a day, for banks across Europe. CSV import works with any bank in the world; you just upload a statement now and then. You can mix both, for example your current account via the bank and a savings account via CSV.
Is my bank supported?
The direct connection works with over 2,000 banks in 29 European countries. Search for yours on our “Supported banks” page. With a CSV file, practically any bank in the world works.
How do I connect my bank?
AndNext uses Enable Banking, a service licensed in the EU with read-only access. You set up your own free access there once and link your accounts. It takes a few minutes and the app shows you how. Then you choose your bank, sign in, done.
Can AndNext transfer money?
No. Bank access is read-only. AndNext sees transactions and balances but can’t transfer or change anything.
How many months should I import?
At least 3, ideally 12. From 3 months, AndNext reliably detects fixed payments and calculates budgets; with 12 months it also catches yearly and quarterly payments such as insurance.
Which CSV files work?
AndNext recognises exports from most banks automatically, even with different separators, number and date formats. What matters is a file with a date and an amount for each transaction. Excel files (.xlsx) and the MT940 and CAMT formats don’t work.
Can I add a joint account?
Yes. You connect it like any other account, via your bank or CSV. Put shared costs like rent on that account and your payment into it as a transfer. That way the forecast is right for both accounts.
What about sub-accounts and savings pots?
Simply link them too, and they appear as separate accounts. Some banks don’t share savings accounts through the bank connection; in that case, add them via CSV.
Do I need to renew the bank connection?
About every 180 days, as banks require. AndNext reminds you in good time, and reconnecting takes a minute. It doesn’t create duplicate transactions.
How do transfers between my accounts work?
Mostly by themselves: if money leaves one of your accounts and the same amount arrives in another within a few days, AndNext marks both as a transfer. Transfers count neither as income nor as spending. If it ever misses one, you can mark the transaction yourself.
Will I get duplicate transactions?
No. AndNext recognises the same transaction again, even between bank and CSV. So you can load a longer period at any time.
Forecast & planning
Looking ahead, the month, what ifHow is the forecast made?
Starting from today’s balance, AndNext projects all fixed payments and budgets into the future. In the current month, amounts already booked count instead of the planned ones. Transfers between your accounts only move money and don’t change your overall balance.
How reliable is the forecast?
AndNext works with your own numbers: fixed payments, averages from your transactions and whatever you enter. When something new comes in, AndNext takes the real numbers and recalculates. Because the future is never certain, AndNext shows a likely range alongside the line.
What does “available” mean?
The money that’s really left after all planned costs. AndNext takes the lowest balance still to come from today, for example just before payday, and subtracts your minimum. If rent and subscriptions go out before your salary arrives, less is available than your balance suggests. You set your minimum yourself; without one, it’s €0.
What does “What’s left over” show?
The overview shows a bar for each month: the past months as booked, the next 12 as forecast. A line shows how your savings add up, and a big number shows what you will have saved in 12 months.
How does AndNext know whether I can afford something?
You enter an amount, one-off or monthly. AndNext checks against your forecast from when it fits without your account dropping below your minimum, not even just before payday. Monthly costs only count as affordable if they can be paid from what’s left over each month.
How do I try out a decision?
Under “Plan”: a new car, saving more, a child, part-time work or one subscription less. You see right away where you’ll be in 1, 3, 5 or 10 years. You can combine several changes and save them as a scenario. Your real data stays unchanged.
What does the month view show?
Your month as a list, as a calendar with payments on their day, or as a timeline with a bar for each day. You can see at a glance when things get tight and how much you can still spend per day.
What are alerts?
AndNext lets you know when something needs attention: an account would slip into the red, a big payment is coming up, a budget is getting out of hand, or your bank access is about to expire.
Items, savings & reserves
Fixed payments, budgets, savings goalsWhat is an item?
A recurring income or expense with an amount and a rhythm, for example salary, rent or streaming. Your items make up the forecast. AndNext suggests items based on your transactions.
What is a budget?
For spending that varies, like groceries or restaurants. You set a monthly amount, transactions are deducted from it, and you see how much is left.
What do I do after a pay rise or cancelling something?
For a change, enter the new amount from the right month; until then AndNext keeps using the old one. For a cancellation, set a last month, and from then on the payment drops out of the forecast.
How do savings goals work?
You create a goal with an amount and, if you like, a date. AndNext works out how much you should put aside each month, whether you’ll make it by the date and which items help you most. If you want, AndNext counts your deposits automatically.
What are reserves?
Payments that only come quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, such as insurance, are spread across the months. You see how much to set aside each month and how much has already been saved before the payment goes out.
What are notes for?
For everything that doesn’t belong in your items: who you owe money to, who owes you, or a reminder with a date. Notes that are due appear as an alert.
Privacy & security
Data, lock, backup, movingWhere is my data stored?
Only on your computer. AndNext doesn’t store your financial data on any server and doesn’t need an account with us. Bank data goes straight to your computer.
How do I protect AndNext?
With a password, and on a Mac also with Touch ID. AndNext locks itself after a period of inactivity that you choose.
I forgot my password
On the lock screen, choose “Forgot password?” and enter the recovery code you received when you set it. Your data stays intact.
How is my data backed up?
AndNext backs up automatically every day on your computer and keeps the last 14 versions. You can download a backup or restore an earlier version at any time.
How do I move to a new computer?
Download a backup on the old computer, restore it on the new one, transfer your licence and reconnect your bank. Done.
Can I delete all my data?
Yes, in Settings. AndNext automatically creates a backup first, and bank access is ended.
Help & contact
Help centre, support, requestsWhat if I get stuck?
The app has a help centre with guides for every area, from the first steps to backups. And if a question is still open, write to us at support (at) andnext.app. We usually reply within a few hours.
How do I send feedback or feature requests?
Right in the app via “Feedback”, or by email to support (at) andnext.app. Your requests shape the next updates. Only the text you write leaves the app, never accounts or amounts.
